Drinking alcoholic beverages during pregnancy, even in small quantities, can have serious consequences for the health of the child.

For our rhubarb liqueur, expect a subtle blend of acid green rhubarb and sweeter red rhubarb.

How is the liqueur made?

So to start, to make this liqueur you have to macerate for almost 2 months the fruits. Then come the stages of juice extraction, pressing, mixing varieties... The whole process is carried out by our teams in our workshop in Dijon.

Which fruit to use for the liqueur?

To make a liqueur the choice of fruit is essential. Indeed, the maturity of the fruit and the variety make all the difference.

For the rhubarb liqueur, we have two choices: green rhubarb or red rhubarb. At Briottet, we had a hard time deciding... But basically, why choose when you can use the qualities of each variety to create a unique product? A powerful and greedy nose, a round palate with a hint of acidity, a delicious pink color... What is certain is that our liqueur is made with 100% European rhubarb. The mixture of flavors chosen allows to obtain a final seductive and slightly sweet. But be careful! If you see your liqueur gradually losing its light pink color over time, do not worry: it is a natural and completely normal process. Indeed, it is an oxidation phenomenon that over time, tarnishes the colors. But no worry, no alteration of taste for!

First developed for our English friends, very fond of this plant but frustrated not to find a liqueur that filled them completely, it is now worldwide that we export this liquor. And she celebrates her 10th birthday in 2022!

Not very sweet compared to our other references, the regulars of the Maison Briottet describe it as a surprising liqueur, which is always a pleasant discovery during aperitifs with friends. To be consumed alone, with a crémant de Bourgogne, or even incorporated in a dessert, our original liqueur will certainly revive your taste buds, so let yourself be tempted! Do you know that rhubarb is not really a fruit? From a botanical point of view, rhubarb is a vegetable! However, with its acidic taste often used in sweet preparations, it is considered more like a fruit. Just like carrots, sweet potatoes, pumpkins or watermelons, the European Commission even approves its assimilation to fruits in some cases, such as jam which is a legally mandatory product composed of a mixture of fruit and sugar. To taste it, we recommend a cocktail designed by our English friends, the For Love .

You can drink it neat on the rocks or with a dry or sparkling white wine, or in a cocktail : For Love.
