The prunes are small fruits with a black-coloured stone and a blue tinge. They come from the prune tree otherwise known as the black thorn. They generally prefer sun-exposed shrubs.

How is Prunelle liqueur made?
For the manufacture of this liqueur, in reality we only use its cores. Removed the skin, pulp and dried, we put them in maceration in neutral alcohol surfin French for nearly 12 months. Finally, to get the powerful and authentic taste exhaled by the core, we add white French sugar. This allows to soften this alcoholic liqueur while bringing roundness.
What does Prunelle liqueur taste like?
It is a liqueur of prune stones. Thus, we do not find the taste of plum at all. Actually, it is more about an almond taste like an Amaretto. At Briottet, we even call it the Amaretto Bourguignon!
