Recipe idea
Pontarlier-Anis à l’ancienne is an iconic aniseed-flavoured spirit created in 1921 by Armand Guy in Pontarlier, Franche-Comté.
It is distilled exclusively from green aniseed. With no added sugar, it has a drier profile and great aromatic finesse.
It is still produced using a traditional method in century-old copper stills, without any colourings or artificial flavourings.
Did you know? Its creation was prompted by the ban on the sale of absinthe in France in 1915.
Serving suggestion: Serve diluted with very cold water, which perfectly brings out the delicacy and aromatic finesse of Anis Vert. Ideal as an aperitif, in the true tradition of Pontarlier’s aniseed-flavoured spirits.
