Our stoneware jug recalls the bottles of yesteryear. A practical spout cap closes the bottle and a deposit of wax by hand covers it. This ensures that it has never been opened while adding character to this jug!

It must be said that the interest of sandstone in relation to the bottle lies in its material. The classic glass bottle has the advantage of seeing the wonderful color of blackcurrant. But it has the disadvantage of letting light pass through. In other words, it accelerates the natural oxidation of blackcurrant cream. On the other hand, the opaque jug keeps the natural purplish colour of the liqueur much longer. Finally, it is a nice container perfectly suited to blackcurrant cream.

How is the stoneware jug made?

Clay is the essential raw material of sandstone. After firing in a 1200 degree oven, the clay turns into sandstone. Moreover, the high temperature guarantees 100% sealing and high strength. As for our stoneware jug, the clay comes from the famous quarries of the Westerwald in Germany.  The Westerwald region is home to the largest and most qualitative clay deposit in Europe. This is how clay is even called "white gold".
